That’s the idea behind the Careers in Manufacturing | Roadshow & Expo — a full-day event designed to inspire the next generation and connect today’s workforce with opportunity.
Morning: 9 AM – 12 PM
Hundreds of middle and high school students and educators will explore manufacturing through hands-on learning and direct interaction with employers.
Highlights include:
- Innovation stations with live demonstrations
- A student questionnaire to spark engagement
- Virtual reality career simulations
- Mobile training labs with CNC and 3D printing
- Robotics and cobot demos that link STEAM skills to career pathways
For manufacturers: showcase your technology and inspire tomorrow’s talent pipeline.
Afternoon: 3 PM – 6 PM
The region’s largest manufacturing career fair, connecting job seekers, interns, and apprentices with more than 40 manufacturers.
Attendees will:
- Meet face-to-face with top employers like ASML, Sikorsky/Lockheed Martin, PTA Plastics, Ashcroft, and Microboard
- Explore career paths in engineering, IT, HR, sales, marketing, operations, and more
- Discover internships, apprenticeships, and training opportunities
- Connect directly with hiring managers
For Manufacturers
This is your chance to:
- Inspire future talent in the morning
- Recruit today’s workforce in the afternoon
- Network with peers and dignitaries at the CONNSTEP-sponsored luncheon (12:30 – 2 PM)
Exhibitor tables are FREE thanks to support from the U.S. Economic Development Administration and the Southwest CT Manufacturing Partnership. Lunch will be provided.
